Routine Investigation Ensemble
As night falls, descend underground to a place of radical presence and possibility. From the raw, folky sonorities of mysterious dances faded by time to quiet moments of extreme intensity, this performance by Leipzig-based Routine Investigation Ensemble takes you on a trip through moods, thoughts and states of being.
Making their Scottish debut, the experimental trio (piano, electric guitar and percussion) present Gregor Forbes's ever-shifting Infinite Avenues and playful Trois Cyclopédies alongside Drifter by Linda Catlin Smith – a piece existing in the space between sleep and wakefulness – and a world premiere from Iranian composer Fojan Gharibnejad, whose work involves a compelling, surrealist sense of narrative and a subtle theatricality.
